From Bucharest with bling: Swarovski-studded door worth 25,000 Euros

If the recession has nothing do with your bling-bling shopping habits, you need to take a look at this shimmering door set that asks for a whopping €25,000 (about $34,900). This blinged door is from the new “Pinum Doors & Windows” showroom in Bucharest, Romania. Called Gioconda Shine, this heavily blinged door is part of the Diamonds line that includes 10 types of luxury doors created by designer Matilde Durante and personalized with precious crystals that mimic diamonds. The door is made of ecological leather and is festooned with 31,707 Swarovski crystals. Mihaela Colescu, a sales representative said, “Regardless of the financial crisis, and Romanians who want to allow such a door will definitely buy.” The Gioconda Shine is one of the most expensive doors in the world, and is probably at the top in Romania.
